Frank Stronach, CEO of Elvy Electric Vehicles in Canada, is about to embark on a new initiative that may involve Barbados.
Frank Stronach is completing the construction of a multi-million dollar plant to manufacture a new generation of mini and micro-mobility electric vehicles that could improve congestion and parking issues, and also have a significantly positive impact on the environment, and the power grid. Yesterday, Daniel Lajeunesse – COO of the company gave the Consulate a preview of plans during a tour of the facility. He explained that by summer production will commence on micro cars and micro trucks 3 and 4-wheelers that are geared for speeds of between 30 – 40 km per hour, mainly in densely populated Downtown metropolitan areas. The cost will be approximately $10,000 – $ 15,000. To make things even sweeter, he confirmed that he is in collaboration with Gauntlet Road Tennis CEO Ron Kellman to promote Barbados’ indigenous sport road tennis. A number of the vehicles will be branded with Road Tennis images. In addition, the COO confirmed that the car company will be constructing a large sporting facility adjoining the car plant that will include a number of Road Tennis courts.
